This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.
The course will be delivered in a variety of delivery and assessment modes. The time taken to complete is the notional time that an RTO expects a learner to formally engage with learning resources provided by the RTO and managed by the RTO in order to meet the requirements of a unit of competency or a cluster of units of competency.
This includes all supervised and/or prescribed activities specified in the RTO’s strategy such as:
These activities are all pre-arranged and managed by the RTO, and learners are informed of these requirements through course materials. These are also specified in unit delivery and assessment plans.
The amount of training required by a learner to achieve a qualification (or a specific unit) depends on:
If the learner has a significant amount of relevant prior experience, it may be that the learner can proceed directly to the assessment process (RPL or assessment only) for some or all of the units, so the amount of training will be reduced.
Similarly, if the learner has already achieved some of the units of competency required for the qualification at another RTO, only a proportion of the qualification will need to be delivered and the amount of training will be reduced.
Alternatively, if the learner is facing challenges, such as the need for substantial preparation, learning support, reasonable adjustments and/or personal coaching the amount of training will need to be increased to meet their needs. The skill of the trainer is to identify the best path for each learner or group of learners to get them to their target competency to ensure that there is an adequate amount of training for them to meet their goals.
Learning materials in the form of Guide Notes have been designed and developed by Training Worx (Aust) Pty Ltd for all units in this qualification. Where contextualisation is required those needs will be identified during specific industry consultation or provided by the course facilitator.
Assessment tools have been developed and will be continually improved based on validation outcomes and learner feedback.
The RTO can provide the following assistance:
The provision of individual training and assessment plans (coaching and mentoring)
Where a special and/or specific need is identified reasonable adjustment in either or both the training and/or assessment program will be made to meet the client requirement bearing in mind that the rules must be adhered to but a creative approach should be considered.
Inclusivity of all participants and their welfare is an essential component of the delivery, facilitation and assessment of this training program.
Enrolling students are offered a Recognition of Prior Learning Pathway (RPL), Assessment Only Pathway and a Learning and Assessment option. A Self-Assessment Instrument is contained within the Pre-enrolment information kit, which allows the student to identify any previous learning towards the RPL or Assessment Only pathway option.
