Schools have high priorities in preparing students for further studies. Many schools have a number of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in schools programs embedded with Curriculum Council courses. If you are training and assessing VET units, you are required by legislation to hold the TAE40110/40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.You may have to obtain your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

If you are a qualified teacher with experience, you are eligible for the TAE40110/40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment via the fast track pathway.

With your teaching qualification, work experience, teaching in the classroom, planning skills, resource development skills, lesson development, counselling of students, etc you can use this experience towards gaining a nationally recognised TAE40110/40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

You will need to provide evidence of your qualifications and experience

May I use work I have already done as the evidence for assigned assessment tasks?           

Yes, you may use work previously completed as the evidence for assigned assessment tasks, provided:

• the work was completed recently, i.e. within the past 12-24 months
• you can provide all the required evidence listed in the assessment task
• the evidence is of a satisfactory standard.
